Dodge Center, MN  (Oct. 4, 2019)
–  McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) company, returns this year to the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s ConcreteWorks as a main sponsor of the event, held October 3-7, 2019 at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center, Kissimmee, Florida. In addition to sponsoring the National Mixer Driver Championship, McNeilus is supplying six branded mixers for the competition: five McNeilus Standard Mixers and the All-New Oshkosh® S-Series™. The National Mixer Driver Championship pits qualified drivers against each other as they participate in a series of events, including navigating a challenge course, performing a vehicle inspection, completing a written examination and other additional skills challenges.

“McNeilus is sponsoring both the NRMCA’s ConcreteWorks event and the National Mixer Driver Championship as a testament to our continued commitment to the industry we serve. We cannot think of a better way to honor the drivers who put our mixers through their paces each day,” said Robert Monchamp, Vice President and General Manager of McNeilus Mixers and London Machinery.

The All-New Oshkosh S-Series will be on-site for the championship. Reducing total cost of ownership and maximizing profitability was the focus of the newly redesigned Oshkosh® S-Series from the start. Maximized payload, serviceability, reliability and fuel economy lead to the most efficiently running front discharge mixer. And we’ve added tools to make it stay that way with FLEX Controls™ and Oshkosh ClearSky™ telematics solution.

McNeilus proprietary FLEX Controls are featured on both McNeilus and Oshkosh trucks for the event. This proprietary system takes the guesswork out of any project. Improve concrete mix and efficiency with consistent loading, mixing and pouring. Easy diagnostics and troubleshooting to reduce guesswork and keep downtime down to a minimum.

Oshkosh, WI (June 6, 2019) –  McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) company, has taken one of its most reliable and respected machines, the Oshkosh® S-Series™ front discharge concrete mixer, and made it even better with an array of new features and technologies that pay off with better visibility, increased hauling capability and tighter turning radius.

“Our S-Series has always been known for strength, stability and reliability;” said Christopher Yakes, Vice President of Corporate Engineering and General Manager, S-Series Business. “And we’re excited to continue to enhance the total cost of ownership for our customers with this latest introduction.”

The reimagined Oshkosh S-Series backed by McNeilus was introduced by Yakes at the company’s Innovation Day and received enthusiastically by customers. Also speaking at the event were Wilson Jones, Oshkosh Corporation President and CEO and Rob Messina, Senior Vice President of Engineering and Technology.

Enhancements That Make the Biggest Impact

These new customer-driven innovations include:

  • FLEX Controls™: Proprietary FLEX Controls takes the guesswork out of any project and increases the life of the concrete mixer. Improve concrete mix and efficiency with consistent loading, mixing and pouring. Additionally, programmable settings help reduce operating inconsistencies.
  • Cab visibility and accessibility: Oshkosh engineering teams conducted multiple visibility studies that paid off in a thoughtful design that maximizes the view and enhances operator assurance. A larger cab allows for easy in and out, with improved ergonomics and more accessible electrical systems.
  • Operator Assurance: In addition to improved ergonomics, expanded visibility and ease-of-use, four-times more shock absorption means less vibration and a more comfortable ride that’s sure to help retain your drivers.
  • Turning radius: Easier steering means drivers can move where they want when they want, both on and off the job site. The front axle features field-proven Oshkosh Defense military components to provide maximum durability.
  • Payload: This lighter truck allows for more concrete per load and decreases the number of trips.
  • Serviceability: Downtime for service is decreased thanks to improvements that lengthen the life of components and protect against corrosion while making them easier to access during service.

And, all of this is backed by the industry’s largest factory-direct parts and service network, McNeilus.

McNeilus Reaches 100,000th Mixer Milestone

Landmark mixer showcased at ConcreteWorks 2018 booth with the latest innovations.

DODGE CENTER, Minn. (October 15, 2018) – McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) company, is recognizing the manufacture of its 100,000th concrete mixer, making the record-setting machine one of the highlights of its booth at ConcreteWorks 2018, at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, National Harbor, MD.

“This is a tribute to the proud legacy our people have built over more than five decades,” said Jesus Crespo, VP and General Manager of McNeilus Concrete Mixers. “From design and engineering to manufacturing and sales, this organization has worked hard to create trucks that lead the industry and deliver solid added value for our customers every day and we’re just getting started.”

The history-making McNeilus® Bridgemaster® mixer, which rolled out of the factory on Sept. 21, features all the company’s most advanced technologies, including:

  • Award-winning FLEX Controls™. “The brains of the operation,” the controls platform offers an unprecedented level of performance and accuracy that allows better, more precise mixing.
  • Patent-pending Automatic Washout System, which saves operator time by virtually eliminating the need to access the top of the mixer for cleaning.
  • Collision-avoidance radar-sensing technology from PRECO Electronics.
  • Street Smart Vision™ system with three cameras allowing drivers a broader view of their surroundings.
  • McNeilus M80 Series Drum™, which delivers enhanced productivity with an increased capacity and a low mass forward design (LMFD). This patented drum design keeps the mix closer together and moves the center of gravity down, leading to more efficient mixing.
  • Hydraulic Chute Assist. Our hydraulically operated chute assist is designed to keep the operator away from the foldover action.
  • GradeMaster™ technology, which detects when the truck is on an incline and spins the drum faster to keep the mix farther forward in the drum, slowing down again when the mixer moves off the incline.

At the conclusion of the show, the keys to the landmark mixer were turned over to its new owner, CalPortland. The truck will be going to the company’s Glacier Northwest location in Washington state.

“We’re thrilled to have the 100,000th McNeilus mixer in our fleet,” said Steve Mitchell, VP of Asset Services at CalPortland. “It’s always a big event when we get a new truck with all the latest equipment and technology. We’ve been a McNeilus customer for decades and it’s an honor to be a part of this monumental production milestone.”

In addition to the 100,000th mixer, the McNeilus booth at ConcreteWorks also featured FLEX Controls™ and an Oshkosh S-Series™ Front Discharge mixer with Cummins X12 Engine.

A number of chassis partners – including Kenworth, Mack and Navistar International –displayed McNeilus mixers as a part of their ConcreteWorks displays. The truck in the Kenworth booth was purchased in a pre-show auction benefiting the RMC Research and Education foundation, which funds research and educational programs to improve quality, sustainability and professionalism in the ready mixed concrete industry. The mixer was purchased by Concrete Supply Co. of Charlotte, North Carolina.
