McNeilus Rolls Out Refuse Service & Maintenance Video Library

Industry Leader Invests in Visual Learning to Help Train Technicians

Dodge Center, MN (March 23, 2020) –  McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) company, is expanding its ability to educate and empower its customers with the launch of a service and maintenance video library, designed to help customers quickly and properly service their refuse collection vehicles. Known for its robust customer support, McNeilus recognizes the increased demand among consumers for visual learning tools and is rolling out several videos for the Atlantic Series Front Loader®, Zero Radius™ Automated Side Loader, Rear Loaders and Meridian™ Front Loader.

“With industry technician shortages and high turnover rates among maintenance staff, we recognized the importance of providing other service training options for our customers to provide a full understanding of all our vehicles. This means they are back up and running sooner.”

The videos, which are found in the media library on the McNeilusCompanies.com website, will help answer customers’ most common questions about McNeilus refuse vehicles and alleviate some of the strain caused by technician shortages, helping to ensure your McNeilus products are being serviced correctly.

Visitors to the library will see videos that address how to deal with various hydraulic issues and instructions on how to test and adjust for various functions, including but not limited to:

  • Testing and adjusting the hydraulic overspeed control valve
  • Testing and adjusting the main relief valve
  • How to check low pressure standby if the hydraulic functions are not sufficiently responsive or are too responsive

McNeilus’ Innovative FLEX Controls™ Wins Constructech Top Products Award

FLEX Controls Named “Most Trusted,” Nabs 4th Award In 4 Years

Dodge Center, MN (March 5, 2020) –  McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, Inc, an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) company, has captured a top prize for its innovative FLEX Controls™ system. Constructech magazine named the system a Top Product in the Trusted Product category (Commercial & Residential). This is the latest accolade for FLEX Controls, already the most-awarded system in the industry.

“We are thrilled that Constructech magazine has recognized FLEX Controls in the Trusted category. Our team works hard every day to win the trust of our customers. While ensuring the quality and integrity of our cutting-edge products they are always innovating with direct customer feedback in mind,” said Bryan Datema, Sr. Director of Business Development.

The publication’s annual Top Products program celebrates the best technology products serving the construction industry. The Trusted Product category includes technology that has been in the market for at least three years and upgraded or enhanced technology.

When reviewing the Constructech Top Products, the judges, along with the editorial board and industry advisors, take into consideration the product’s core functionality and innovative features.

“Data drives the jobsite, and McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing demonstrates how its FLEX Controls can improve loading, mixing, and delivery of concrete by automatically controlling truck functions.” Said Peggy Smedley, Editorial Director/President of Constructech magazine.

Why FLEX Controls

The innovative FLEX Controls system is a control system for concrete mixer trucks. It offers complete mixer monitoring, diagnostics and troubleshooting in one screen. It is fully integrated into the mixer body so it can send mixer data to the driver to keep the truck running efficiently. This technology is available only from McNeilus with patented and patent pending features.

FLEX Controls is fully customizable. From Auto Load at the plant to System Washout after the delivery, FLEX Controls makes it easier than ever to get the job of loading, mixing, hauling and delivering done right.

Simply put, FLEX Controls can help extend the life of your mixer. Easy diagnostics and troubleshooting help identify issues before they become bigger problems, and help reduce stress on the vehicle.

FLEX Controls with an Automatic Washout System removes the need for drivers to climb up and down the ladder after each pour, to help minimize slip and fall opportunities. Now drivers can get their washout done from the ground, with the simple push of a button.

FLEX Controls has been honored as an MIP, Most Innovative Product, for two consecutive years and Construction Equipment named the system a Top 100 New Product in 2017.

Come see the latest customer-focused FLEX innovations at CONEXPO-CON/AGG in booth S60408 to see how FLEX Controls can improve your bottom line and total cost of ownership. You can also contact a McNeilus sales person near you to learn more.
